Det finns ett starkt stöd för Stockholm Arlanda Airport bland de som bor granne med flygplatsen. Drygt nio av tio säger att flygplatsen är viktig för sysselsättningen och regionens utveckling. Det visar en ny undersökning från företaget Markör.
Stockholm Arlanda Airport, som ägs, drivs och utvecklas av Swedavia, tidigare LFV, är ett viktigt nav för Stockholmsregionen. Under 2010 passerade 17 miljoner resenärer flygplatsen och 190 000 flygplan startade eller landade på Arlandas tre banor.

The number of passengers at Stockholm Arlanda Airport increased by 15 per in May. International traffic increased by eleven per cent, and domestic traffic increased by a full 27 per cent.

Today Swedavia AB is submitting an application to the Swedish Land and Environment Court for a new environmental permit for Stockholm Arlanda Airport. The current environmental permit is a mixture of outdated regulations and conditions that in the worst case may reduce opportunities for domestic and international flights by half within a few years. In the long term, this therefore constitutes a threat to access for all of Sweden. The new application is based on legal provisions and environmental laws in effect that take into account the importance of aviation for growth, jobs and prosperity throughout Sweden.

The largest airport in Sweden is now environmentally certified in accordance with ISO 14001. The certification is further evidence of the airport’s environmental work. Stockholm Arlanda is already carbon accredited.

During March, the number of international passengers at Stockholm Arlanda Airport increased by nine per cent, and the number of domestic passengers increased by seven per cent, which meant an overall increase of eight per cent compared to March 2010. A total of 1,542,461 passengers flew to and from Stockholm Arlanda in March.

Green approaches, special privileges for ecotaxis, biogas-powered buses, space heating with biofuel and water treatment are some of the areas of this work.
