Stockholm-Arlanda Airport's press room

Stockholm-Arlanda is the largest airport in Sweden, with 176 destinations and 81 airlines. Some 50,000 passengers fly in or out of the airport every day. About 16,000 people employed by 250 companies work at Stockholm-Arlanda. Swedavia, a self-financing State enterprise, manages the airport and has 750 employees stationed there.

Stockholm-Arlanda Airport collaborates with a number of other organisations and public agencies in the Stockholm region with the aim of making Stockholm and Sweden more attractive as travel destinations.

  • Construction begins on major new hotel at Stockholm-Arlanda

    The first foundation stone was laid in a ceremony today for the new Clarion Hotel Arlanda Airport. It is the kickoff for the 414-room hotel, which is being built adjoining Sky City and is expected to be completed in November 2012. The level of ambition is high – to be the best airport hotel in Europe.

  • More satisfied taxi passengers and more ecotaxis at Stockholm- Arlanda

    The new queuing system for taxis introduced at Stockholm-Arlanda in the spring has now dramatically increased both customer satisfaction and the number of ecotaxis at the airport.  Six out of ten travellers say that the change represents an improvement and today three out of four taxis at the airport are ecotaxis.

  • More air travellers and higher tourism revenue

    In June, the number of air travellers at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport grew by almost 5 per cent compared to June last year. International air travellers increased most, up 6 per cent, while domestic air travellers increased by 1 per cent.

  • Stockholm-Arlanda honoured for its world-leading environmental efforts

    At an evening ceremony in Milan on June 17, Stockholm-Arlanda became the first airport to win ACI Europe’s newly established environmental prize, the Eco-Innovation Award. Stockholm-Arlanda was given the award “for outstanding achievement in environmental performance and an innovative approach to environmental management”. ACI is a global organisation for 1,530 airports in 175 countries around the world.

  • Stockholm Chamber of Commerce wants to abolish emissions cap

    Stockholm-Arlanda’s emissions cap is threatening air traffic and should be abolished, said the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in a press release.
