Passports and visas

Always carry your passport when you travel abroad. If you are a citizen of another country and need to replace a lost or stolen passport, please contact the embassy or consulate of your country in Stockholm to find out what procedures to follow in your case.

A temporary Swedish passport for Swedish citizens can be issued by the Arlanda Police, but only if absolutely necessary. Please check in advance at tel. 08-401 53 90. The Arlanda Police station is located in the Customs and Police Building at the entrance to the airport. The easiest way to get there is on free transfer bus number 10, which departs from all airport terminals.

There is an automatic photo machine at the police station and in the Terminal 5 departure hall, close to SkyCity. The photo booths only accept SEK 5 and 10 coins.

A visa may be required in some countries

Some countries may require Swedish and other passport holders to obtain a visa. If you are uncertain what rules apply to your trip, you should contact your travel agency or the nearest embassy of the country you plan to visit.
