Travel climate smart to and from Stockholm-Arlanda – quickly and smoothly
There are many public transport alternatives to and from the airport: high-speed trains, long-distance trains, local trains, local buses, airport coaches and other buses and coaches that take you to and from destinations outside the Stockholm region.
You can also make other transport alternatives more environmentally friendly.

We know that not everyone is able to take public transport. That is why there are taxis, hire (rental) cars and parking facilities. You can also make this type of travel more environmentally friendly by choose ecotaxis and environmentally clean vehicles.

Trains – the most environmentally friendly alternative
Trains are an efficient, environmentally friendly way of getting to and from Stockholm-Arlanda. They include the Arlanda Express high-speed trains, the Upplands Lokaltrafik (UL) and Stockholm Transport (SL) local trains and the SJ railway company’s long-distance trains.

Buses and coaches that run on organic rapeseed oil
Both special airport coaches and local buses serve Stockholm-Arlanda. It is also possible to combine a bus with a taxi or train. Upplands Lokaltrafik and Flygbussarna Airport Coaches are operating buses and coaches using organic rapeseed (canola) oil.

Ecotaxis are located directly outside the terminals. Most taxi companies offer fixed prices to Stockholm and Uppsala. The target is for all taxis at Stockholm-Arlanda to be ecotaxis by June 2011.

Stockholm-Arlanda offers free transfer bus service inside the airport area and to hotels and parking areas. The goal is that all of the airport’s own transfer buses will run on renewable fuel by 2012.

Car rental
The five car rental companies at the airport are located next to the airport's long-term parking areas Arlanda Långtid Alfa and Arlanda Långtid Beta. It is easy to get to the companies and back to the terminals on free transfer buses.
