VAT REFUNDS AT STOCKHOLM-ARLANDA AIRPORT

  •

Those of you that live outside the European Union (EU) can get a refund on a percentage of the value-added tax (VAT) for those goods that you have purchased in Sweden, on the condition that the retailer where you bought the goods is a member of the VAT refund system.

Everyone who has resided outside the EU for at least 12 months has the right to get back 12.5 – 17.5 percent of the Swedish VAT on purchased goods that are carried in personal baggage.

    Here is how it works:

When you shop, a Global Refund Cheque is printed by shop personnel and your goods are specially labelled.
  • Upon your departure from Sweden, prior to check-in, go to the Global Refunds office for goods inspection in the departure hall in Terminal 5 or the Forex office in the departure hall in Terminal 2 (Forex is an agent for Global Refund). There, simply present your goods and your Global Refund Cheque will be validated.

Then you can redeem your Global Refund Cheque at Global Refund’s office in the transit area (after the security checkpoint) in Terminal 5 or at Forex in the departure hall in Terminal 2.
